My heart still aches in your passing
The emptiness unrelenting
You were always there for me Mum
I found refuge in your compassion
I am confronting reality now
This permanent separation
I think of you everyday Mum
So many times I picked up the phone
Wanted to tell you something new
Then I remember you're not there
Confronting reality requires faith
